E.W. Vogt science Symposium - Saturday Feb 7th, 2015
TRIUMF and the University of British Columbia have partnered in organizing a day long science symposium to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Erich Vogt, who passed away last February. Ten speakers have confirmed their participation and will give presentations linking the current state of the art research in Subatomic Physics, Molecular and Materials Science, Nuclear Medicine and Science Education to Erich's leadership in driving the scientific program of TIRUMF, of Canada and of many other world institutions.

The event will take place at the University Golf Club on Saturday February 7, 2015 from 08:00 until ~16:30.

Breakfast, coffee breaks and lunch will be provided and are included in the registration fee of $50.00.

E.W. Vogt reception and dinner on Friday Feb 6th, 2015
The E.W. Vogt science symposium will be preceded by a reception/dinner on Friday night Feb 6th at the University Golf Club where friends and collegues of E.W. Vogt will have a chance to recall some of the memorable moments they shared with Erich. This event will be by invitation; if you want to be included, you can request an invitation from the Local Organizing Committee by sending and email request to jmp@triumf.ca.

The cost to invitees for the reception/dinner event is $75.00.

We very much hope you can join us for this event and celebrate the truly remarkable legacy from the wonderful scientist and motivator Erich was.

The events will also be the occasion to continue the work of Erich in attracting students to research by supporting the UBC First Year Student Research Experience fund that Erich established for first year University students to get a chance to experience research at UBC or TRIUMF. The first recipient of these fellowships will be present at the event and the 2015 winner will also be announced then.
